EMT-Basic Admission Questions:

 What are the admission requirements to apply to your EMT program? 

  • A student must be at least 17 years old to apply. 

  • In order to be eligible to test, a student must be 18 years of age.

 

How often do you host EMT programs? 

  • Classes are offered in February, May (online w/ pre-determined practical dates), and October.

When is the deadline to apply for your programs? 

  • Our application process stays open until our classes are full.

 

EMT-Basic Program related questions:

 

How long is the EMT program? 

  • The EMT program is 192 hours. On average, our programs take 4 months to complete.

 

You mention that you have an online program offered in May; Do you offer the online program at any other time throughout the year? 

  • Currently, we are only offering an online program through the summer months. This will allow for new students and college level students work at a controlled pace with specified meeting dates to meet practical requirements of the program. 

 

I live outside of Rhode Island; Am I eligible to enroll in your program? 

  • Yes. ERG prepares you to complete your NREMT cognitive exam. Each state typically offers reciprocity once you have acquired your NREMT credential. Please be sure to contact your state’s Office of Emergency Medical Services if you have any concerns. You may also contact us at 401-265-0122. 

 

How successful are your students once they have completed the program? 

  • The NREMT first time pass rate, which include the first 3 attempts is 100% 

  • -ERG is also pro-active at assisting students with job placement in both Rhode Island and Massachusetts.
